So here is my new little project. A 1990 Honda civic. More of a work car, its got to have sound in it, or I won't be happy!
I installed sport-tuned struts with DropZone coilovers to help the ride. I have added upper front and lower rear strut bars and lower rear control arms. I also put on a cold air intake and an oversize front sway bar. to help the braking i installed a set of cross-drilled/slotted rotors on the front.
Since the headlamps needed to be cleaned up, I added some projection lamps to help out at night. The whole front end had to be torn down to put them on, so dyed the front and rear bumpers black swapped out the corner and turn signal lenses for clear ones and added some driving lights to the lower grille. I have a habit of getting a little out of control...I dropped a DEO Alarm LED in each side marker while i was in there.
So here is the rear of the car. I swapped out the OEM taillights for some carbon fiber taillights with clear covers. I pulled out the third brake lens since it was cracked and cut this replacement out of Lexan. I removed the OEM light bulb, replaced it with 6 red LED's, then I added the fourth alarm LED. I sanded the rear of the lens so it would difuse the lighting when its on. I dyed the rear bumper too while I was at it. Since The Panasonic deck I have had a rear view camera, my boss gave me a cam. That led to the rear view camera you see tucked away under the license plate.
I installed door lock actuators, and power windows. I installed the switches in the center console. Again I got carried away and put the Valet switch under the E-brake, and a third alarm LED in front of the shifter.
Three cans of spray-on sound deadener were used inside each door skin to help settle any rattles. Then a Dynamat door kit and some BeQuiet sound deadener was used on the outer skin and inner door panel to stop vibrations. This picture (Right) also shows the installation of the SPAL Power Window Assembly. You can also see the Massive Audio 6 1/2" mid in the factory location.
This pic shows the upgraded battery and battery terminals. You can also see the strut bar and the cold air intake i added as well.
I added a voltage guage above the rear view mirror. Since this was in easy reach, its where i installed the Sub control also.
Here you can see the panasonic flip out DVD player. The radio was actually a tip from a customer. I ended up adding a center channel since this deck had the output for it.
The Massive Audio P950.5 is a 5 channel amp that powers everything in the car, except the center channel. I mounted it to the roof, since there really wasn't any room for anything else.
This Boston Acoustics G-2 10" subwoofer is the only non-Massive Audio speaker in the set up. But this Transmission line enclosure makes this little 10" woofer sound like 2 12's!
So here is my car with the Civic alloy wheels, and all of the new additions. I have more in store, but they will have to wait for now!
