This page shows the 1st competition install I have ever done. Sorry the pics look so bad, all I owned was this cheap camera.
The car was my daily driver. The guys at Sounds and Signals (my employers at the time) had a lot to do withthis install getting done.
System Diagram for stereo install.
These two pics show the alarm system, showcased in the glove compartment, and the front stage. There are Image dynamics horn drivers hung under the dash. The custom kick panels house Image Dynamics 8" woofers. The emergency brake had to be torn out, to make room for the kick.
The driver-side kick panel was home to the Audio Control crossover. The passenger side held the caps and distribution blocks. Both sides had panels to cover them up, the fuse blocks and caps were covered with plexi. The fuse/dist block was actually pieced together out of several pieces, to get the desired amperage load.
(Left) Two earthquake amplifiers were mounted in this motorized amprack. A high current amp was used to power the subs, while a smaller 240 amp 4 channel was used for the front stage. The amps had inserts that resembled the heatsinks. I relocated the power/protection lights to these inserts, painted the amps to match the color scheme, and added a plexiglass strip to id the amplifiers.
(Right) this shows the amprack when it is "closed" concealing the rack under the rear deck.
Ahh...the trio. Who says three is a crowd?? These are JL Audio 12w6 woofers. They were wired to the sub amp, producing over 1000 watts of power, producing all of the SPL the kids love to hear.
The enclosure was a very limited time schedule, so the sparetire well was used. It used to blow the minds of the people that would see the install. 1st there was nothing, but remove all of the panels, and flip a switch, then...DAMN!
