There were dual altenators on this truck. One charged the factory system, the other charged the two batteries for the stereo system, which were located in the bed. The fuse block under the hood protected the charging lead that ran to the bed. It was hidden inside the 'tool compartment' under the hood.
The Viper 550 alarm system was mounted in a display housing under the driver-side dash. Not very many knew it was a fake. The actual alarm system was hidden away somewhere else.
With this install, we added a little a/v to the car. I dropped a raw 5" screen in the driver-side visor. It was for the kids to be occupied at the shows, and give my wife something to watch on the long road trips.
The tool box in the bed, was the housing for the system batteries. They had an enclosed housing, with exhaust fans on the rear panel. Fusing was laid out ontop of the batteries on a custom plexi strap that doubled as the mounting brace.
The cheap camera i used to use, really ruined this shot for me. These two Orion amps were mounted to a plexi amprack. The wiring was run through channels on the back of the plexy, and then through holes at thier entry points for the amps. It was a really neat look. Notice the custom-made seat in frint of the rack.
This is a shot of the box going together. The three JL Audio 12w6's were left over from an old install. They went into this very large bandpass enclosure that made up the bottom of the rear seat.
Focal 51/4" components were used with Focal 7" midbass for the front stage. I wanted the truck to look as stock as possible. The factory kicks were tossed, We built these to replace them. The factory door grilles were made removable so the 7" could be seen. The grilles were designed to look as factory as possible when in place, while still allowing the sound that we needed for the front stage.
This is a shot of the fuse panel while we were putting truck together. The fuse blocks were disassembled, and mounted directly to the panel.A cover was made for it to conceal and protect the fuses from any type of shorting.
