This is a 2004 or 2005 Toyota Solara. The factory deck was removed so we could install a Kenwood KVT-911DVD. The factory speakers were swapped out for Alpline Type S mids.
Since an aftermarket kit wasn't available yet, we built a custom kit for the deck. We installed two Alpine Amps and subs in the trunk.
The customer brought the car back for some upgrades. We added a Kenwood 5.1 processor and the Kenwood center channel. The customer wanted a "cleaner looking" kit, so we fabbed one out and sent it out for paint.
He brings the Solara back in. He wants something IN the dash. and something that won't block his air vents. I dropped the center channel to a pocket under the a/c controls and built another kit. Me and one of my installers (Ricky Gutierrez) busted this one out. We dropped in this Kenwood deck.
This was an amprack I built for a 2005 Nissan 350z. The 4 channel Kenwood runs Boston Acoustics mids and highs. The Alpine amp powers the sub.
This is a Rockford Fosgate P1 10" woofer we chose for the 350. I built a small, sealed box for it.
This is a double-din Kenwood in a Chrysler 300. The car belonged to a football player for the Arizona Cardinals, but I don't remember his name. We dropped in Boston Acoustics mids and highs with the deck.
This was a custom job in a Pontiac Sunfire. The customer brought in the car to get the trunk done. I built a custom enclosure for the two subs and trimmed out the trunk. He has two amps and a huge cap bank. I sunk the cap into the floor, and floated the amps on either side. Since Audiobahn used flames as thier trademark, I used embossed flames all over the place. I have the pic of the inside sub wall on here somewhere. The flames really turned out cool in that photo.
This job was one I did when I was working on my own. An old friend of mine wanted to build a small-time spl car, just for kicks. I took on the job on Thursday, it was at a big event on Sunday. It had an entry level Pioneer deck in it, a Rockford 800.2 amp, and (Don't Laugh!) 10 Q-Power 10 woofers. I built the big ported box and we took it to the show.
It was a good day. It was the 1st time that USAC (Competition organization) had held State Records. We took one with the 1st run with the "Bass Biscuit"
A customer came in and wanted his equipment installed. The car was black with tan interior. I used that color scheme in the trunk and hooked up all of his gear. Three Planet Audio amplifiers and six Audiobahn woofers. We also motorized his trunk lid and dropped in 12 speakers in the front of the car!
