This is the Kenwood dvd player I installed in The 350z on Pg 1. This was fun to get in the dash! It looks so good in it, I'll be pushing it on every customer with a Z!
This photo goes back a few years. I was working for the DB Factory when i built this box. It was the 1st fiberglass enclosure I had built. The three 10" Audiobahn's sounded great. The enclosure went into a Mitsubishi Eclipse showcar. We had the car done just in time to leave for the Texas Heatwave, in Austin thet year.
Small job for a customer who walked into our Mobile One. He wanted a smaller box in his Jaguar. I showed him the Alpine Type-S 10" and a saleman wrote him up. I added the embossing to give the generic-looking box a better look.
M & M Cadillac Hearse
A Kinetik KHC-800 was used as an Aux Cell to help power the systems in the Hearse.
Since these old Hearse's don't come equipped with radios, I had to get a little creative. I mounted a universal kit to the glove compartment door. So he could just close the door when it was not in use.
Custom kick panels were built to house some Alpine Type-S coaxials.
A Rockford Fosgate P2 10" woofers was dropped behind the driver seat in a sealed box. There is also a Rockford T-4004 hidden beside the box that is used to power the front system.
The car has two seperate systems. A switcher was used to allow dual source units on these systems. The customer has the ability to control the front, or the rear, or both systems from whichever radio he chooses.
An entry level Jensen cd/dvd player was used as the rear head unit, since we needed a dvd source for the two 15" screens that have been installed in each side wall. It is hidden behind this overhead door.
This is a shot of the driver side wall. It, like the passenger wall, has four Alpine Type-S 6 1/2" mids, two Rockford Fosgate 8" woofers, and a 15" screen.
These covers were originally built to fill the space that would be filled with 15" screens in the near future. After the screens were installed, they were used as covers over the screens.
A Rockford Fosgate P2 10" woofer was hidden in forward wall in an area where the original rear A/C unit was. The A/C was actually used to help keep the bodies cool during transit. The sub is hidden away behind the A/C access door.
The rear system is powered by two Rockford Fosgate amps. A T-400-2 provides power for the mids and highs. The T400-2 runs the rear woofer. Both amps are mounted in a hide-away custom rack that is hidden under the floor. The rack is tucked away by the rear driver side door. The panel under the rack is also removable, allowing access to the car jack and accessories. I removed the tops off of the amps and added a Rockford logo to the rack that is backlit with red LED's. I covered the rack in a pseudo-suede material like that found in the lining of caskets.
